Children at Llanhari Primary School swapped the classroom for a construction site during an action-packed visit organised by local housing developer Lovell.
The Llanhari pupils, who have been working on a project exploring the building process, asked Lovell if they could get a closer look at homes under construction at its new Bryn Celyn development on the edge of the village of Llanharry.
The excited children were shown round by Lovell site manager Chris King and community liaison officer Bernadette Vickery.
As well as seeing a crane, forklift, digger and cement mixer in action, they talked to some of the team working on site about their jobs. "They were with us for an hour and had a look at a number of houses in different stages of construction," says Bernadette Vickery of Lovell. "The children were fascinated by everything and came up with a constant stream of questions. We thoroughly enjoyed having them here. Being part of the community and getting involved with local schools in the areas where we work like this is very important to us."
