Morgan Sindall’s affordable housing and regeneration business Lovell has been chosen by Family Mosaic Housing to build a £17 million housing regeneration development in Basildon.
Lovell is set to start work in September on the scheme which will involve the creation of 91 new affordable apartments and houses, for rent and shared ownership for the housing association, in addition to 38 apartments for open market sale.
The scheme will involve the demolition of the two Royal Court tower blocks in King Edward Road, Laindon, Basildon. As part of the new development, Lovell will also build a new community centre and shop to replace existing facilities. The first new homes for rent are due to be handed over in September 2009.
