Affordable housing developer Lovell is celebrating a series of award achievements for its new-build housing schemes in Scotland.
The company notched up double success at the Homes for Scotland awards, organised by the body which represents the country's housebuilding industry. The Best Partnership in Affordable Housing Delivery Award went to a large-scale regeneration project in the Moredun Park and Hyvots areas of South Edinburgh which Lovell has worked on in partnership with Dunedin Canmore Housing and The City of Edinburgh Council. The scheme has involved the development of 244 new homes and refurbishment of more than 370 properties.
In addition, the partnership between West Lothian Council and Lovell delivering a major new-build housing programme of 545 new homes was commended in the same category.
At the same time, a new development of 48 homes for social rent at New Park Gardens, Gorebridge, built by Lovell for Midlothian Council, has been named by leading industry magazine Inside Housing as one of the UK's Top 50 Affordable Housing Developments.
Lovell regional director Alan Taylor says: "It's extremely rewarding to see the hard work and dedication of our talented construction teams acknowledged by these awards. We are committed to working with our partners to deliver homes of the highest quality and it's great to receive this kind of recognition."
