Morgan Sindall’s construction business Morgan Ashurst has been awarded an £11 million contract by the University of Teesside to build a four-storey undergraduate teaching facility for trainee dentistry professionals and sports therapists.
The new facility will accommodate a dental suite including 20 dentist’s chairs and practice ‘phantom heads,’ aimed at trainee hygienists, technicians and nurses. The centre will be affiliated to the NHS North East Strategic Health Authority and is designed to address the skills shortage in dental services in the region. The new building will also accommodate a sports therapy centre, which will include a hydrotherapy pool and training areas.
Work on the project is scheduled to be completed in April 2010.
