Morgan Ashurst to help deliver £300 million North Lanarkshire schools modernisation programme

Morgan Sindall’s construction business Morgan Ashurst has been chosen by North Lanarkshire Council as one of three framework contractors to deliver its £300 million schools modernisation programme. The four-year package of building improvements, which is due to start in February 2009, is one of the largest educational facilities upgrades in the UK. The project has been named Schools and Centres 21 to reflect the role of North Lanarkshire's schools as community hubs.

Morgan Ashurst will be involved in the construction of new primary and secondary schools, early education and additional community facilities across North Lanarkshire. It will also help refurbish existing schools, nurseries and community buildings. The value of the work could be worth as much as £100 million to Morgan Ashurst.

Morgan Ashurst’s appointment to the Schools and Centres 21 Framework is the fourth major schools buildings programme for the company in Scotland.
