Morgan Ashurst wins £10 million Kentish Town ‘super-surgery’ contract

Construction company Morgan Ashurst, part of construction and regeneration group Morgan Sindall, has been awarded a £10 million design and build contract to construct a three-storey, state-of-the-art primary healthcare facility for Camden and Islington Community Solutions (CICS), which is a public private partnership between Camden and Islington PCT’s and Community Solutions for Primary Care Ltd. It is the latest healthcare building to be constructed under the Government’s NHS Local Improvement Finance Trust (LIFT) initiative.

Purpose-built to provide improved services for the growing needs of patients in Kentish Town, the new centre is part of a £50 million development by CICS in the Borough of Camden that also includes the Hanley Road Primary Care Resource Centre and the Bingfield Street Primary Care Resource Centre in Islington which both opened in 2006.

The Kentish Town Healthcare Centre is due to open at the end of 2008.
