Morgan Ashurst wins £24 million worth of primary school work in Scotland

Morgan Sindall’s construction business Morgan Ashurst has won £24 million worth of primary school work in Scotland. The company has been awarded a contract to build the new £18 million Cathedral Primary School in Motherwell for North Lanarkshire Council, as well as a £6 million project to replace Udston Primary School in Hamilton, for South Lanarkshire Council.

Work at both schools begins immediately and will finish at Cathedral Primary School in June 2011 and Udston Primary School in November 2010.

Morgan Ashurst is one of three firms working under North Lanarkshire Council’s £300 million Schools and Centres 21 framework. The four-year framework includes the construction of new primary and secondary schools, early education and additional community facilities across North Lanarkshire. It will also help refurbish existing schools, nurseries and community buildings.

The company is also one of three construction firms appointed by South Lanarkshire Council to build 33 new primary schools under its £850 million Primary Schools Modernisation Programme.
