Morgan Ashurst wins £9.9 million Rotherham medical centre contract

Morgan Ashurst has been awarded a £9.9 million design and build contract to construct a three-storey primary care centre for St Paul’s Developments in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.

The contract will see the company constructing Rotherham Primary Care Trust’s new health centre as part of the town centre’s regeneration scheme.

The high-specification, 55,000 sq ft medical centre will provide a walk-in facility for urgent care, community dentistry, x-ray and ultrasound facilities, cardiograph care, osteoporosis support, family planning, physiotherapy, podiatry and two minor operating theatres.

The medical centre will also feature a glazed entrance atrium that spans the full height of the three-storey building. Morgan Ashurst will also create 10,000 sq ft of office accommodation, a large car park and undertake roadworks linking the building to the main road.

The new medical centre is due for completion in October 2008.
