Morgan Est buys major part of railway electrification specialist ETI

National infrastructure services provider Morgan Est, part of construction and regeneration group Morgan Sindall plc, has acquired a major part of UK railway electrification specialist Elec-Track Installations Limited (ETI) which went into administration this week. Morgan Est which is headquartered in Rugby, agreed the £1 million deal to buy some of the assets of ETI’s Isolations and Possessions (I&P) division. ETI is the UK’s largest single specialist provider of electrical isolations which are essential before any railway and track maintenance and enhancement works can go ahead.

Morgan Est has not acquired any of the company’s debts or liabilities. The deal preserves employment for over 130 employees in the I&P business.

“ETI’s leading expertise in isolations in the rail sector significantly enhances Morgan Est’s service offering and gives us the highly specialised electrical isolation skills we need to support our clients within our growing rail and electricity utilities operations,” says Mark Cutler, managing director of Morgan Est. “This acquisition makes Morgan Est the largest single specialist provider of electrical isolations in the UK and gives us the opportunity to better support both our rail and electricity customers across the UK with a highly trained, dedicated workforce.”

Alongside Network Rail, ETI has worked for London Underground and on many tramway and metro projects on isolation provision and management for AC and DC electrical systems.
