Morgan Sindall Group plc, the construction and regeneration group, is pleased to announce that its Construction & Infrastructure division, in joint venture, has been awarded the Central Enabling Works Contract for High Speed Two (HS2). The contract will be worth up to £100m to Morgan Sindall Group over a period of four years.
The contract includes the early preparatory work needed ahead of the main civil engineering work for the scheme, including archaeology, site clearance and setting up construction compounds.
The contract awarded to Morgan Sindall is one of the three Enabling Works Contracts which, combined, amount to the total value of £900m. These contracts cover Phase One of the HS2 scheme from London to Birmingham, and the connection to the West Coast Mainline at Handsacre, Staffordshire. Work is due to begin in Spring 2017.
John Morgan, Chief Executive of Morgan Sindall Group, commented:
“Morgan Sindall Group has proven expertise in delivering complex infrastructure projects and we are delighted to be chosen by HS2 as a trusted partner on this historic scheme.”
