Morgan Sindall, the construction, infrastructure and design business of the Morgan Sindall Group, has been selected by Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council to deliver an £18.57 million regeneration project in Stockbridge Village, Merseyside.
The firm will build a new primary school, neighbourhood centre with leisure facilities and new retail space.
The project forms part of a £25 million regeneration scheme, developed by Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council in conjunction with local residents and partners, to transform the village into a vibrant and welcoming focal point for the local community. The project will see the creation of a new swimming pool, state-of-the-art gym and leisure facilities, learning resource centre, primary school, children’s centre and family centre, multi-use games area (MUGA) and a supermarket.
“We have considerable experience in successfully delivering complex, multi-element regeneration schemes of this nature and look forward to working closely with Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council throughout the lifetime of this project,” says Paul Smith, chief executive of Morgan Sindall Group plc.
The regeneration scheme will be delivered in five phases and is expected to be completed in spring 2012.
