Morgan Sindall as part of the Partnership for Fire Limited (Pff), a joint venture between Morgan Sindall Investments, Carden Croft and Barclays European Infrastructure Fund, has achieved financial close on the Dorset Emergency Services Partnership Initiative (DESPI) PFI project.
Pff Dorset ltd, a PFI consortium of Morgan Sindall Investments Limited, architects Calderpeel Carden Croft and Barclays European Infrastructure Fund II, has signed a 25-year project agreement with Dorset Fire Authority and Dorset Police Authority to design, build, finance and operate a number of new fire and emergency services facilities in Dorset.
Pff will provide two new fire stations and a new joint police divisional and fire area headquarters in Poole and a second fire service area headquarters in Dorchester. Bluestone (soon to be renamed Morgan Ashurst), Morgan Sindall’s construction business, will design and build these new facilities with construction of the accommodation due to start immediately. The anticipated value of construction works is approximately £46 million over two years.
Says Paul Smith, Morgan Sindall’s group chief executive:
“Morgan Sindall is delighted to enter into this strategic partnership with the Dorset Fire and Police Authorities. The DESPI project strengthens our position in the emergency services accommodation market and demonstrates our long term commitment to the sector.”
