Morgan Sindall preconstruction teams in the South of England are trialing web based technology as a means of reducing travel impacts and improving collaboration.
As with most construction businesses, fuel usage presents a significant expense in both cost and emissions. Recognising the need to reduce this usage, Morgan Sindall are trialing the use of IT systems as a potential solution.
Video conferencing, online document sharing and online teleconferencing are just some of the tools the South team are using to reduce travel costs and improve communication across their seven offices.
Speaking of the new technology, ICT Project Manager Ian Blumsum said “Microsoft Lync has the potential to save millions of business miles each year and will revolutionise the way we work, enabling face to face communication and collaborative working unrestricted by geography.”
