Morgan Sindall plc success at UKCG Apprentice of the Year Awards

The 2012 UK Contractors Group (UKCG) Apprentice of the Year Awards 2012 took place on 25 June, seeing Morgan Sindall receive recognition in every category.

Presented at the UKCG annual lunch in central London, the awards are given in two categories: 'Apprentice of the Year' recognises construction apprentices who have demonstrated exceptional ability and dedication to their own skills and 'Employer of the Year', designed to recognise the support by a UKCG member company in delivering Apprenticeship training to the construction industry.

In the 'Apprentice of the Year' category, Morgan Sindall's Regina Tumblepot (of C510) achieved the Highly Commended Certificate, shared with Charlie Teall of Kier. The overall winner was awarded to Sean Millican of Wates. In the 'Employer of the year' category, the two Highly Commended contractors were announced as Morgan Sindall and Carillion, with the overall winner going to Seddon Construction Ltd.

Simon Nathan, UKCG Head of Policy said: "The judging panel was impressed by the quality of all the shortlisted apprentices – who all showed exceptional ability and a real desire to succeed. These are the 'gold standard' apprentices who are developing the skills to take our industry forward".

Morgan Sindall had a recommendation in every award category, and was the only construction company to achieve this.
