Morgan Sindall, the construction, infrastructure and design business of the Morgan Sindall Group, has been awarded an £8.5 million contract to create a new entrance building and library at Newman University College, Birmingham.
The project will create a striking new three-storey building including a state-of-the-art library, offices, teaching space, a café and an atrium.
Morgan Sindall’s specialist piling team will carry out works to provide a solid base for the new building before installation of the exposed concrete frame. They will construct 262 continuous flight augered bearing piles, 350mm and 400mm diameter, to a maximum depth of 18.1 metres.
The project is due to be completed in January 2012.
