Morgan Sindall, the construction, infrastructure and design business of the Morgan Sindall Group, has been appointed by the University of Sussex to design and build a new £17.8 million academic building. The 8,000m² facility will house the School of Law, Politics and Sociology, and the School of Business, Management at Economics. It will be the biggest lecture theatre on the university’s Falmer campus.
The building will feature a number of sustainable technologies such as a sedum roof and rainwater harvesting. Morgan Sindall will be employing 50 local companies to work on the project with up to 200 construction workers on site at the project’s peak.
Work on the project – Morgan Sindall’s ninth for the university – is due to commence on site this month (October) and is due to complete in April 2012.
